If the credentials to access the web interface of an Interaction Media Server have been lost, they can be reset back to the defaults of username admin with password 1234, if you have access to the Windows Server instance. This can be done with a registry change, the location of which depends on your Interaction Media Server version.
- Interaction Media Server 3.0 and earlier: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Interactive Intelligence\MediaServer
- Interaction Media Server 4.0 and Interaction Media Server 2015 R1/R2/R3/R4: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Interactive Intelligence\MediaServer
- Interaction Media Server 2016 R1 and newer: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Interactive Intelligence\MediaServer
Within the MediaServer registry key, locate the WebConfigLoginName and WebConfigLoginPassword entries. Make a note of their values in case of any problems, then delete the two entries.
Restart the ININ Media Server service. When Interaction Media Server starts, the two registry entries that were removed will be recreated and the default credentials will be restored.
Restarting the ININ Media Server service while there are calls in the system may cause loss of audio and/or loss of call control. Perform this step only during a maintenance window or out-of-hours.
After the ININ Media Server service has started, you will be able to login to the web interface using the default credentials of username admin with password 1234. It is recommended to change these for security under Config > Administration.
